After 16 years of exploring New Zealand’s South Island, Lake Tekapo still takes my breath away. Discover why this place — and others like it — are more than just beautiful. They restore you.
Lake Tekapo Still Takes My Breath Away
I remember the first time I saw Lake Tekapo. The sky was clear, and the lake had this amazing shade of blue — one I had never seen it before. I couldn’t even describe it. It was completely new to my eyes.
Even now, 16 years later, after travelling all over the South Island, that view still surprises me. Every time I return, I feel that same quiet awe.
New Zealand has this peaceful beauty that stays with you. It doesn’t just impress, it restores. The silence, the open spaces, the clean air, everything invites you to slow down and just breathe.
Why I Started True North Travel
That feeling is why I started True North Travel and Tours. I wanted to help others, especially travellers from overseas to feel what I felt when I first saw Lake Tekapo and so many other special places here.
If you are planning a trip to New Zealand or Australia and feel unsure about the language, logistics, or travelling alone, I am here to help. I offer bilingual support in Portuguese and English, and I can coordinate your trip or welcome you into one of our small group tours.
I take care of the details so you can simply enjoy the experience.
Let’s Travel Together
Whether it is your first time in New Zealand or a return visit, I would love to help make your trip a dream, safe, and full of meaning.
